CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE at Spier 20 October 2011
October 27, 2011
We had the honour of playing for the Climate Change Conference at Spier, hosted by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation. This was the precursor to the Durban Climate Change (continued below)conference.Representatives of 42 countries attended these Pre-COP Ministerial Consultations. The meeting was chaired by Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane,incoming President of COP 17/CMP7.
In her speech, the Minister shared some of the impressions she had formed after the consultations which had taken place, and some of the expectations and hopes for the upcoming Durban Climate CHange Conference.
With all our hearts,we wish the delegates wisdom and success in finding sustainable climate solutions for all of us.
The Hungarian Trio played all sorts of international tunes for these ministers and delegates from all over the world, interspersed of course with splendid African tunes. Our favourite is Ntyilo,Ntyilo. This means Little Bird-a very beautiful tune.

Olive Rock
October 27, 2011

Good morning, good morning everybody! We played our special brand of live background music at beautiful Olive Rock near Wolseley.Everyone exclaimed at how we sound like a small orchestra- not even a string quartet, although we are only three people! Here is a lovely letter from our client:
Dear Gabor, Nerina and Don,
Again a HUGE Thank You for the wonderful event the Hungarian Trio helped create at my wife Mariaan’s birthday party at Olive Rock, Wolseley, on 20 August.
It was a beautiful evening. Good friends, good food, good wine, even good weather. But the single item that set it apart from any similar event I have ever attended, was the music of the
Hungarian Trio. It is also the one item that has generated the most compliments.
Thank you once again. Man, you really make a difference!!!
Regards,
Dr. Chris and Mariaan Fourie
Just a few new Thank You letters from our lovely clients!

Your silver and golden sounds made us all richer!
Thank you!

Dear Nerina,
I feel so ashamed that I haven’t thanked you before for your beautiful playing at Siri’s birthday. You entered into the spirit of everything and made her party the success it was. Everyone was very grateful. I’ve only just found your email address on the internet., having looked for it everywhere else. Please excuse my delay in thanking you. I will definitely recommend again if I’m asked.
Warm regards, Jetteke
Thank you Nerina – we love your blog and we especially loved the musical entertainment with which you enhanced our special evening ! you were magnificent ! thank you again – till we celebrate again . xxxxxcaro

Jacob Daniël du Plessis (Japie) Basson’s long political career, as well as the interesting period of South African history which he experienced, are reflected in this valuable manuscript collection. The extensive collection has now been fully indexed and made accessible to researchers.
We enjoyed very much playing for Mr Basson, who is a great music lover, and likewise for his family,Dr and Mrs Wiese. We added a beautiful new item to our repertoire,a special request,’I'm in the mood for Love’-one of our favourite new tunes!
Grande Provence,3 June 2011
July 17, 2011
On the most beautiful autumn day imaginable,we drove to one of our very favourite venues,Grande Provence in Franschoek.Grande Provence is set in the valley amongst lush rolling vineyards and ancient oaks. A stunning modern garden lies next to the manor house and art gallery, and interesting sculptures enliven the garden. It was the birthday celebration of Heinz, with many German friends. They started with pink champagne(Grande Provence of course) in the garden beneath the eye of the resident barn owl(see pic). They progressed with great merriment to delicious food, singing and dancing. Our original booking of one hour turned into four hours-the guests could not get enough of the Hungarian Trio! Some brave ladies danced seductively on the table , and finally Heinz blew out his candles with the greatest gusto imaginable! The angel of Grande Provence,Nicole Bisschoff, ensured that everything ran smoothly, easily and beautifully, ably assisted by her charming waitrons.HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Another wonderful adventure for the Hungarian Trio!On a beautiful autumn day we drove through the Wellington Winelands all the way to the tall blue mountains of Wolseley. There we found a glorious venue, Waverley Hills, overlooking the beautiful valley. The Du Toit Group,South Africa’s largest fruit exporter, was having a farewell dinner for some executives who were leaving.Who better than the Hungarian Trio to play them out on a triumphant note?It was a wonderful evening-the manageress,Fina Prinsloo, had decorated the dining room most beautifully-candles,a roaring fire, delicious food and wine and romantic music! The most beautiful shining apples from
the Du Toit Group also formed part of the decor.Everyone had a magnificent evening and stayed till nearly midnight!People loved the music so much that the Du Toit management gave each couple one of our CDs as a keepsake of the evening.Luckily we had brought enough CDs with us!
